Built density and building performance
This project, part of my master thesis, investigated the impact of early-design urban massing on built density and building performance indicators. Simulations were run on 768 possible design variations based on the master plan. Despite the difficult trade-offs between opposing goals (such as, for example, spatial Daylight Autonomy and Floor Area Ratio), the analysis suggested some optimal design solutions and relevant indications to planners and architects regarding the sensitivity of the performance indicators to the different design parameters.
